Club Policies
Central Coast Condors Soccer Club “Playing Up” Policy
All players shall participate at their appropriate age level, determined by Cal South, with the following exceptions:
1. Player is already registered on an older team AND considered a top third player
2. No age appropriate Condors team exists
3. Parent is/will be a Cal South registered administrator for the older team
4. Recommended by current coach to compete against older players
Requests for playing up are to be through the age appropriate coach and older team coach. The player can attend older team tryout if approved by both coaches. Arrangements are to be made and agreed upon by both coaches.
In the event a player would like to switch teams (play age appropriate or go to another team when there are multiple teams in an age bracket), the current coach and prospective coach shall be consulted. Coaches are to consider the effect on the player, team, and club by agreeing to accept/reject player requests to change teams. It should be a coaching decision and NOT parental.
Central Coast Condors Soccer Club Multiple Team Policy
1. A need for a 2nd team
a. Current coach must feel there are enough quality players to field 2 teams
b. A large number of players at past tryouts for that age division
c. The club will benefit from having multiple teams in an age division
2. Current Condors coach has priority on filling roster
a. If new coach approved by the Board, he/she is to work with established coach in the same area at tryouts; he/she is obligated to help contact players that are not selected to either team
b. If new coach has not been approved, he/she may observe from the sideline with other parents - full participation is at the discretion of the established coach
c. It is better in U14 and older to have a highly competitive team rather than multiple mediocre teams
3. It is up to the Board to designate 1st priority team/coach
a. In the event that 2 new teams are coming into age group, Board will decide on first priority based on the experience, dependability, and initiative of the Head Coach
b. If a newer team has become more successful in Tournament and League play AND has consistently won matches against the more established team, the Board will change priority to the newer team
c. Teams will be designated as White, Red, or Black by order in which the coach/team had been approved: designations will not change if a team folds or a newer team becomes the 1st priority team
